This video demonstrates and explains how to set up and pack up the Danglemat. Full list of written instructions are below.
Setup
- Roll out the mat in your desired play area and detach the rolling tube.
- Separate the bumpers and lay them around the perimeter of the mat where they will attach.
- Identify the long edge where you will stand. On this side, place:
- Short bumper
- Long low-profile bumper (center)
- Short bumper
- The other long edge gets two long bumpers and each short edge gets one long bumper.
- Identify the long edge where you will stand. On this side, place:
- Attach each bumper to the mat by lining up the velcro. Start at one corner and work your way toward the opposite corner by alternating sides. Make sure the mat is flat when attaching each patch of velcro. Always line up the bumpers and velcro by starting from the corner of the mat. The short bumpers and the low-profile plastic will not align exactly with the velcro patches on the mat.
Teardown
- Remove all bumpers from the mat. Tip: stand on the mat right next to the bumper you are removing.
- Stack the bumpers. At each step, the bumper you add should attach securely to the one beneath it.
- Start with the long low-profile bumper. Turn it upside-down so the velcro faces up.
- Attach one long bumper on top, aligning the velcro.
- Flip the next long bumper upside-down before attaching it. The two "L" plastic bumpers should form a rectangle and the foam should be on the opposite side from the bumper underneath.
- Repeat this pattern for the other two long bumpers.
- Add the two short bumpers on top.
- Thread the gear ties through the metal loops on top of each short bumper.
- Roll up the mat.
- Align the velcro on the rolling tube with the velcro on one short side of the mat.
- Roll the mat up tightly around the tube.
- Lay the rolled-up mat on top of the bumpers. Wrap the gear ties around the mat and secure the ties through their end loops.
Care
- The mat can be vacuumed to remove dust and debris. Use a low power setting or brush attachment to avoid lifting the mat.
- For dirt or grime, clean with water and mild soap. Allow to fully air dry before storage.
- Small creases from use are normal.
- Avoid folding the mat sharply or storing it folded for extended periods.
- To reduce creases, lay the mat flat, pull it taut while attaching bumpers, and leave it out for several hours.
